    Measuring your child's feet

    Print and verify measuring chart accuracy

    Step 1

    • Print out the measuring chart. Make sure that your printer is set to 100% page.

    • Double-check the measurements are correct against a ruler.

    Step 2

    • Place your child’s foot on the paper. Ask them to stand tall with their feet slightly apart.

    • Make sure that their heel is in line with the back of the gauge.

    • Make a mark where the child’s longest toe reaches (note: this is not always the big toe). This is their shoe length.

    • Cut the width measuring tape from the paper. Check the measurements against a ruler.

    • Place it under the child's foot and measure at the widest part of the foot, usually diagonal from the big toe joint to the small toe joint.

    • Take note of the measurement. This is their width.

    Step 4

    • When the new shoes have arrived, it is time to try them on. Once the shoes are fastened securely, ask the child to stand with their weight evenly distributed between both feet.

    • Check that there is a thumb's width between the child's toes and the end of the shoe. If you cannot feel their toes, ask them to wiggle their feet.

    • The shoe should fit snugly in the heel. Give it a little tug as if trying to pull it off. If it stays in place, this is the correct fit.

    • Check that the width is not too tight across the joint.

    We’re proud to be part of the new and revitalised Stretford Town Centre and the exciting future this presents us as residents, employers and your chosen schoolwear provider. 

    As you may be aware, this major renewal project comes with disruption. 

    We want to make your visit as safe and enjoyable as possible. Please see our guidance below on how to visit us during the redevelopment. 

    Arriving by car: 

    • Lacy Street Car Park, accessible via Newton Street, Stretford, M32 8LS.  This is a pay-and-display car park.

    • Limited parking is still available adjacent to Aldi, but there is no direct pedestrian access through the Arndale to our King Street location. Parking is charged after your visit.

    Arriving by public transport:

    • Bus stops along Chester Road (A56) are still in operation and of the most direct access to our store

    • Bus stops along the A5145 remain live, but there is no direct pedestrian access through the Arndale to our King Street location.

    This project is due to continue into 2025 and beyond, so you may wish to plan and pre-book ahead of time when visiting our store. You can do so by clicking below:
